As a shop owner for 33 years. I can say the most important aspect of a successful shop is proper education. The owner needs to know how to run a successful business by learning from the experienced educators and sharing this knowledge with your team. The front offfice can’t be effective nor efficient if the technicians aren’t educated properly to diagnose and recognize the needed repairs on today’s vehicles. I’ve known Kris Lewis for some 15 years as an automotive instructor, he brings out of the box common sense training that every technician should learn. Kris will bring any level tech to a much better position when it comes to diagnostic procedures. In today’s hectic automotive business environment I’ve learned that the owner needs to know and understand what the techs are learning. How do we get to be more efficient at diagnosis. How do all your techs perform testing procedures the same way, buy having a process in place and sticking to it.
